In this medical malpractice action, plaintiff alleged that defendant infectious disease physician performed an overly aggressive abdominal exam causing a gastric volvulus, which resulted in four unnecessary surgeries.  In response, Mr. Felty and Mr. Parker, along with hospital counsel, argued that the patient’s gastric volvulus was caused by: (1) a pre-existing hiatal hernia; and (2) vomiting, which occurred due to the patient restarting a solid diet.

The jury returned a unanimous 8 out of 8 no cause verdict for the defense.
