In this medical malpractice case, it was alleged that a doctor violated the standard of care by performing a femoral nerve block while the patient was under the effects of a spinal anesthetic. At trial, defense proved to the jury that the spinal had sufficiently worn off, the doctor fully complied with the standard of care and as a result was not a proximate cause of the patient’s alleged damages.  The jury returned a no cause verdict.
