Phillip J. O'Brien provides advice and legal services to clients on issues relating to employee pension plans, welfare plans, and fringe benefits, including compliance with ERISA and with various requirements in the Internal Revenue Code for tax qualification of pension plans or for tax preferred treatment of welfare plans and fringe benefit arrangements. Mr. O'Brien has been responsible for the amendment of approximately 100 qualified plans to ensure compliance with current law. In addition, Mr. O'Brien is involved in plan design, administration, and the representation of clients in matters involving corporate planning and reorganization, estate planning, taxation, health care law.

Mr. O'Brien has been admitted to practice as a Certified Public Accountant, and was a member of the Michigan Association of Certified Public Accountants and the American Institute of Certified Public Accountant.
