John M. Simmerer is a trial attorney who advises and represents clients in litigation relating to insurance agents E & O defense, coverage and insurance contract interpretation; general insurance defense type matters involving premises liability , auto negligence/no-fault, construction, product liability, employers liability and professional liability (architects, engineers and attorneys).
Mr. Simmerer received a Michigan Insurance Solicitor's License in 1973 and is particularly qualified in insurance coverage disputes and insurance agents' errors and omissions law. He has edited the Sullivan, Ward, Asher & Patton Insurance Agent Newsletter, has lectured various insurance agents organizations and has had articles on insurance agents' errors and omissions published in the Michigan Agent magazine.
Mr. Simmerer joined Sullivan, Ward, Asher & Patton, P.C. in 1980 and became a shareholder in 1987.
Mr. Simmerer served in the United States Navy. He is a member of the American Bar Association and Michigan Bar Association, as well as the Incorporated Society of Irish American Lawyers and the Michigan Defense Trial Counsel, Inc. and the Macomb County Bar Association.
