Jeffry G. Powers is a defense attorney who, for his entire career, has focused his practice on the trial of liability cases. His principal areas of concentration involve liability claims against trucking companies and commercial carriers, personal injury claims against municipalities and their employees, and the defense of professional liability claims, including legal and medical malpractice claims. He has also represented a significant number of clients in construction litigation, insurance law, commercial premises liability claims, motor vehicle law, including no-fault claims and commercial roofing litigation. Mr. Powers counsels his clients on claims investigation, risk management and the limitation of liability, as well as recent changes in the law. He is a member of the Defense Research Institute, the Michigan Defense Trial Counsel, the Trucking Industry Defense Association, and a member of, and lecturer for, the Safety Council of the Michigan Trucking Association.

Mr. Powers was awarded his bachelor's degree from Michigan State University in political science, with a heavy background in the physical sciences. Mr. Powers has been a shareholder in the firm since 1992 and is a member of the Detroit and Oakland County Bar Associations and the State Bar of Michigan.

Particularly interested in the use of computers in the practice of law, Mr. Powers is an active proponent of litigation support programs, case management software and on-line research. Whenever possible, he encourages computer-linked attorney and client communications enabling quicker and more efficient exchange of correspondence, discovery materials and general information.
