Attorneys

Gerard J. Andree counsels and represents physicians and hospitals in medical malpractice cases and manufacturers and distributors in product liability litigation. A trial attorney with thirty-five years of courtroom experience and an accomplished negotiator, Mr. Andree serves as a court-appointed Case Evaluator in Wayne and Oakland counties at both the Circuit and District Court levels.

Mr. Andree is a member of the Defense Research Institute, Michigan Defense Trial Counsel, Association of Defense Trial Counsel and the International Association of Defense Counsel. He graduated Summa Cum Laude from the University of Detroit Honors Program with a degree in Irish History, studying primarily at University College, Dublin. Mr. Andree received his law degree from the University of Detroit where he was elected to membership in the legal academic honor society, Gamma Eta Gamma. He joined Sullivan, Ward, Asher & Patton, P.C. in 1976, becoming a shareholder in 1981 and a managing shareholder in 1995.

Mr. Andree has completed four terms as an elected representative from the Sixth Judicial Circuit to the Representative Assembly of the State Bar of Michigan. He has also been repeatedly appointed to the Oakland County Bar Association Limited Committee on Medical-Legal Relations, a joint committee with the Oakland County Medical Society where he has served on several subcommittees, including mediation reform and physician discipline. He is a frequent speaker on risk management and the avoidance of liability at area hospital in-service programs and on Grand Rounds.

Since its inception, Mr. Andree has been honored to be chosen to participate in the limited membership of the Oakland County Bar Association chapter of the American Inns of Court where he is now an Emeritus Master of the Bench. He is a former Trustee of the Oakland County Bar Foundation and a frequent invited participant in the annual Oakland County Circuit Court Bench-Bar conference.

In 2003, Mr. Andree was sworn in as a member of the Bar of the United States Supreme Court.
